Friday 11th to Sunday 20th August: Norfolk Broads: Castle and windmills
: Based at three campsites, the trip allows weekend, seven-day or nine-day permutations. There will be options for longer or shorter paddles either leaving from or arriving back at campsite or a there and back itinerary each day, as well as walking, cycling or general tourism alternatives for non-paddlers or those wanting a rest. Rivers are mostly flat but tidal, except for Waveney above Geldeston where there are a number of weirs. Itineraries best suited to open canoes, which can be hired locally or from West Reservoir Centre. Usually a waterside pub lunch option. Canoe sailing kits could be used on larger Broads. Planned itineraries avoid the lower stretches of the rivers and Breydon Water, which have more challenging tides better suiting sea-kayaks. BCU membership card covers requirement for short-visit Broads Authority licence. Contact us more more details.
